Volunteering

Even though you are busy with the 8-10 classes a semester, you still spend a lot of your spare time doing things for the program. Volunteering starts to become a second nature to you because you and the group host a lot of events. Not just volunteering for each other's events but, also classes require some volunteering. They really help with upgrading your resume and to experience new things. A few of us got the opportunity to volunteer for Saskatchewan Polytechnic's basketball tournament. The Amaruk boys and girls teams both played throughout the duration of 2 days on a weekend. Some of us were assigned to score keeping, planning half time shows, making announcements, planning the ping-pong tournament, planning the supper banquet, giving out awards, taking down, setting up, etc. We were lucky to watch both the Amaruk boys and girls win the tournament! We got to experience our own parts as well as how the teams worked together to make it to the top.
